Joey founded Takeoff Capital with the conviction that the construction industry is finally due for the tech disruption that he has seen in every other major B2B industry in the past two decades.

Born in Korea, he immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 8 without knowing a word of English. Since then, he has pursued his American Dream with a chip on his shoulder.

He is an active venture capitalist and an angel investor focused on B2B SaaS companies. He was previously a partner at Romulus Capital, the first institutional investor in EquipmentShare. He also incubated a B2B data visualization tool in the 401K space as the Chief Product Officer at the Harvard Innovation Lab.

Joey previously worked at McKinsey & Company, specializing in optimizing tech sales and account retention teams. Joey holds a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University.
